CP(P) Maris Moreno is Psychology for Leaders instructor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York.
She graduated from USMA with a bachelor's degree in psychology. As a military intelligence officer, Moreno has served in a variety of roles, including multi-function platoon leader, targeting team member, battalion S-2, and company commander in units across Fort Richardson, Alaska; Fort Huachuca, Arizona; and Fort Liberty, North Carolina. She is a graduate of Airborne School, Air Assault School, and the Army Space Basic Cadre Course. Her deployments include supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, Operation Inherent Resolve, and Operation Allies Refuge.
Moreno earned a master's degree in learning, teaching and educational transformation at the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2019, with a curriculum focused on mental health counseling.
She is originally from Naples, Florida. She has a dog, Maggie, who accompanies her on many travels and hikes. A certified yoga instructor, Moreno incorporates strength, balance and mindfulness into her environment. Her more recent hobbies include yardwork and home renovation projects.
