LTC Mathew Beigh

LTC Matt Beigh is an assistant professor in the Department of Systems Engineering (DSE) at the United States Military Academy (USMA). He graduated from USMA in 2007 with a B.S. in Engineering Management and then commissioned into Army Aviation. After flight school and qualification on the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, he served in various leadership positions (Platoon Leader, Squadron Adjutant, and Air Cavalry Troop Commander) with the 1^st Squadron, 6^th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Riley, KS. From 2010-2011, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn, progressing as a Pilot-in-Command and Air Mission Commander.

Following the Aviation Captains Career Course at Fort Rucker, LTC Beigh earned an M.S. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2016 and subsequently became an FA-49 Operations Research/Systems Analyst (ORSA). He previously taught in DSE from 2016-20, including a one-year assignment as an analyst in the Operations Research Center (ORCEN). After leaving USMA, he served in the Pentagon at HQDA G-1 as a personnel analyst and team chief, conducting strength forecasting, modeling, and analysis of the Army's enlisted force. In 2026, he earned his doctorate from George Washington University and returned to USMA.

LTC Beigh and his wife, Kathleen, are parents to two great children (Claire and Jack), a crazy dog, and a chill rabbit.
