Dr. Max Margulies is an associate professor in the Department of History & War Studies at the United States Military Academy (USMA). He is also the director of research for the Resnick Center for Holocaust & Genocide Studies.
He previously served as the chief research officer for USMA's Modern War Institute and the Department of Social Sciences, where he taught international affairs and served as executive director of the Rupert H. Johnson Grand Strategy Program.
His primary interests include military personnel policies, innovation, and effectiveness. He also studies and writes broadly on civil-military relations, strategy, and conflict. Dr. Margulies holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in political science from Columbia University, and a bachelor's in political science, with honors, from McGill University.
