COL Mike Kovacevic is the director of Strategic Plans and Assessments (G-5) for the United States Military Academy (USMA).
Commissioned as an infantry officer from USMA in 1997, he has served in a variety of infantry and special operations units with multiple staff and leadership positions including brigade command of 2 BCT, 101st ABN Division (Air Assault) and 3rd Security Force Assistance Brigade.
COL Kovacevic served in strategic assignments at the Pentagon on the Joint Staff in the J-35 Joint Operations Directorate – U.S. Central Command, Joint Operations Division, and as executive officer to the Director of the Army Staff. He holds a master’s degree in security studies from Kansas State University, a master’s in national resource strategy from the Eisenhower School, National Defense University, and is a Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI Fellow.
