MAJ Nathan Jones is an assistant professor in the Department of Physics & Nuclear Science at the United States Military Academy, where he teaches physics. He was previously with the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, teaching Cyber Fundamentals, Digital Logic with Embedded Systems, Basic Electrical Engineering, and Computer Architecture courses.
He received his commission as a military intelligence officer from the Claremont-McKenna ROTC program in 2010 while earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Harvey Mudd College. Over the course of his nearly 14-year Army career, he has served with the 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, the 10th Mountain Division, and the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) as a company executive officer, battalion S-2, brigade/group assistant S-2, and military intelligence detachment commander.
MAJ Jones has deployed to Afghanistan and Chad, and he is a graduate of Airborne School, Ranger School, and the Military Intelligence Captains Career Course.
He earned a master’s degree in computer engineering from North Carolina State University in 2020
MAJ Jones is married and has two children.
