Department of Military Instruction
MAJ(P) Noah Tartal is an instructor and field artillery branch representative in the Department of Military Instruction at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
As the field artillery branch representative, he and the Accessions Division continually educate and inform the USMA staff, faculty, and cadets on Army branches and the branching process and lead the transition process from cadet to lieutenant.
As a Military 300 (MS300) instructor, MAJ Tartal aims to further inculcate critical leader attributes and expand upon military knowledge developed during previous summer training opportunities and military science (MS) course work. MS300, a semester-long, 40-hour course for second class cadets, culminates MS course during a cadet’s 47‑month experience at USMA.
MS300 enhances cadets' tactical planning and decision-making skills by testing their decisiveness in scenarios with limited information under condensed time constraints to prepare future officers for the challenges of leading American soldiers in a complex operational environment.
