MAJ Noah Currie

MAJ Noah Currie is the desk chief and AIAD coordination for the Department of English & World Languages (DEWL) at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York. He is also a senior instructor for several DEWL degree programs.
He graduated from USMA with a Bachelor of Science in French, commissioning as a second lieutenant in the Infantry branch in 2013. MAJ Currie most recently commanded Bayonet Company of the 2-327th Infantry Regiment "No Slack" within the 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Prior assignments included service as both a brigade and battalion assistant S-3 operations officer, including remote support to Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq and Syria, a heavy weapons platoon leader with the 10th Mountain Infantry Division where he deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel, and as both an executive officer and cavalry scout platoon leader with the 2nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea.
His awards and decorations include the Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachutist and Air Assault Badges, Meritorious Service Medal, and the French Army's Commando Badge.
Outside of the classroom, he enjoys spending time hiking and fishing with his family. MAJ Cunningham and wife Maggie have been married 10 years and blessed with Christopher (8), John Paul (6), Jane (4), Zélie (2) and Francis (born over the summer). When he's not being outfished by his kids, he likes to spend his time with the Sprint football team, Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Club at West Point. He occasionally even finds the time to crack open a book, preferring post-Renaissance French literature and 19th-century novels. His research interests include motivation and leadership theories along with the depiction of leaders and the topic of leadership in literature.
