He also directs the Alpine skilling course.He came to USMA after serving as the diving coach at his alma mater, Seton Hall University, from 2011 to 2014. He then served as the Army West Point diving coach from 2014 to 2018 and became a DEP instructor in the summer of 2018.In addition to teaching survival swimming, Mr. Hughes has taught fundamentals of personal fitness, alpine skiing, rock climbing, tennis and racquetball.
