MSG(P) Patrick Reichardt

MSG(P) (German Hauptfeldwebel (HptFw) Patrick Reichardt is a senior instructor of military science in the Department of Military Instruction at West Point.
He is a native of Boostedt, a small village about 50 kilometers north of Hamburg in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He enlisted in the German Army in 2008 as a reconnaissance soldier. MSG Reichardt has served in nearly all common leadership positions in vehicle-borne reconnaissance (cavalry scout), from driver of the recon vehicle Fennek to recon patrol leader. His last German assignment was with IV Inspektion Heeresaufklärungsschule Munster, where he served as noncommissioned officer head instructor for Leichte Aufklärungskräfte (LRS).
His overseas deployments include the Netherlands (Chinook helicopter basic training), Austria (alpine warfare and reconnaissance), Poland and Mongolia. He has deployed for combat and peacekeeping missions to Africa with the All-Sources Information Fusion Unit as part of the Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali, and to Mongolia with the Operational Mentor and Liaison Team at the Peace Support Operation Trainings Center.
He is a graduate of the Class of 72, “Trust and Inspire,” from the Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Center of Excellence, U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in leadership and workforce development, presented by the Sergeants Major Academy on behalf of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a Master of Arts in homeland security from New England College in New Hampshire.
MSG Reichardt’s awards and decorations include German jump wings, U.S. jump wings, German Master Gunner (H&K 40mm), German Army Expert Marksmanship Badge, U.S. Expert Marksmanship Badge, the U.S. Army International Student Badge, basic instructor badge, campaign ribbons, good conduct medals and the German Cross of Honor Medal (Bronze).
He is the father of three sons and is married to Marit Reichardt from Heide, Hemmingstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
