LTC Philip Steenstra, Ph.D. Assistant Professor Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering philip.steenstra [at] westpoint.edu About Education LTC Philip Steenstra is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering at the United States Military Academy where he teaches CH275 Biology.Steenstra earned a bachelor’s degree in Life Science from USMA in 2008 and commissioned as an Engineer Officer. He has served in Brigade Combat Teams and Echelons Above Brigade Engineer Battalions with combat deployments to Afghanistan and operational deployments to the Republic of Korea. He received his Master of Science degree from Washington State University (Vancouver), his Master of Military Arts and Science degree from the Command and General Staff College, and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
