At the 24th Financial Management Support Unit (FMSU) at Fort Stewart, Georgia, she served as the FMSU executive officer and commercial vendor services officer in charge, where she processed $1 billion in invoices supporting U.S. Central Command operations. Washington later served as S8 (resource manager) for the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team at Fort Cavazos, Texas, overseeing a $175 million annual budget.Washington holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond School of Law, a master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and dual bachelor's degrees in Russian/Soviet Studies and psychology from the University of California, San Diego.Fluent in Russian and proficient in Ukrainian and French, she is passionate about second-language acquisition and pedagogy.
