Dr. Rachel Milstein Sondheimer is a professor of political science in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy (USMA). In 2021, she completed a four-year rotation as vice dean for academic affairs. She has also served as the American politics program director and department deputy head.
She earned her doctoral degree in political science from Yale University and her bachelor’s degree in government from Dartmouth College.
Dr. Sondheimer is the co-author of the seventh edition of American National Security (2018 from Johns Hopkins) and the co-editor of Teaching and Learning the West Point Way (2021 from Routledge). She has also published in various journals, including the American Journal of Political Science and Armed Forces and Society.
