Dr. Robert Kubiak II is a supervisory chemist in the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering at the United States Military Academy, where he manages laboratories and instrumentation that support chemistry education and research initiatives.

Dr. Kubiak served as a medic in the U.S. Army from 2006 to 2010, including an operational deployment to Afghanistan. After his enlistment, he completed bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biology at D’Youville University in Buffalo, New York. He later attended Emory University under a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, earning a doctorate in chemistry with a focus on small-molecule synthesis.

Before joining USMA, Dr. Kubiak was a research assistant professor in Tuskegee University’s Department of Defense Aerospace Engineering, Research, and Innovation Center of Excellence, where he oversaw the acquisition, installation, and implementation of advanced instrumentation in support of composite materials research for the Department of Defense.
