LTC(R) Ron Hasz is an instructor in the Department of Natural Sciences at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS).
He graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA) in 1995 and then served in combat engineer units as a platoon leader, company operations officer and company commander. He earned master degrees from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and the Air Force Institute of Technology.
LTC Hasz served as a Functional Area 52 nuclear and counterproliferation officer in the USMA Department of Physics, the National Ground Intelligence Center Weapons of Mass Destruction Division, the NATO School Weapons of Mass Destruction Department, the Joint Interagency Task Force – National Capital Region, and again at the USMA Department of Physics & Nuclear Engineering.
He retired from active duty in the summer of 2023. He has 10 years of experience as the officer in charge of the Cadet Fly Fishing Club and has led the club to a 5–1 record against the U.S. Naval Academy in Army-Navy fly-fishing competitions.
