CPT Scott Marriner is an instructor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is a native of West Chester, Pennsylvania. CPT Marriner earned his commission through the United States Military Academy in 2015 and was appointed a second lieutenant in military intelligence with a branch detail to field artillery. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in psychology from the academy and a Master of Science degree in human factors engineering from Tufts University.

CPT Marriner began his career as a fire direction officer, platoon leader, and assistant fire support officer in the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany. He completed several operational deployments to Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania in support of the NATO alliance from 2016 to 2018.

Following promotion to captain, CPT Marriner transitioned to the Military Intelligence Corps. After graduating from the Captains Career Course at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, he was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. He served as the division G-2 operations officer, the Dagger Brigade assistant intelligence officer, and the squadron intelligence officer for the 5-4 Cavalry Squadron. While serving in the 1st Infantry Division, CPT Marriner completed two operational deployments to Poland and the Republic of Korea.

CPT Marriner is a graduate of Air Assault School and the Joint Firepower Course. His military awards include the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Armed Forces Service Medal, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.

CPT Marriner is married to CPT Caitlin Marriner, a fellow 2015 academy graduate and instructor in the Department of Systems Engineering. They have one daughter.
