COL Sean Morrow is a native of Naperville, Illinois, and was commissioned as an infantry officer after graduating from the United States Military Academy in 2001. He led a rifle platoon in the 3rd Infantry Division during the 2003 invasion of Iraq and later commanded an infantry company in Baghdad during the 2007–08 Surge. From 2010 to 2012, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of English and Philosophy at West Point.

COL Morrow joined the 10th Mountain Division in 2013 and served as a battalion operations officer and a brigade executive officer in southeastern Afghanistan. Most recently, he commanded the United Nations Command Security Battalion in Panmunjom, Korea. In this role, he served on the Tri-Lateral Commission, representing the United Nations Command in talks with the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. He participated in more than 40 direct engagements with the North Korean military and hosted U.S., ROK, and DPRK leaders for a historic 2019 meeting.

COL Morrow earned his doctorate from the University of Chicago, where he also completed a master’s degree in political science. He holds a master’s degree in Irish studies from Boston College, where he focused on narratives of political violence. He previously served as president of the West Point Class of 2001.

He resides in West Point, New York, with his wife, Meghan, and their three sons: Paddy, Cormac, and Declan.
