Sharon House is the human research protections coordinator and exempt determination official for the Human Research Protections Program at the United States Military Academy (USMA). In this role, she performs regulatory reviews of research proposals, provides guidance to investigators and makes determinations of exemption. 

Ms. House also plays an active role in building, updating and troubleshooting Cayuse, the online system used for research submissions.

She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from La Salle University and a master’s degree in clinical research organization and management from Drexel University College of Medicine Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies. Prior to joining the USMA program, she spent 18 years as the director of human research protections at Reading Hospital in Pennsylvania. She began her nursing career as an oncology nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where her interest in research was sparked.

Ms. House grew up in New Jersey with a close-knit family. She enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends and cheering for Army, no matter the sport.
