LTC(Ret) Shaw Yoshitani is an assistant professor and personnel officer (S1) in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, teaching Probability and Statistics courses at the United States Military Academy (USMA). 

As an engineer officer, he served in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, 2nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea, and the 555th Engineer Group at Fort Lewis, now known as the Joint Base-Lewis-McChord, Washington. 

As an FA49 analyst, LTC Shaw led the analytic effort for the Chief of staff of the Army's wargame while with The Research and Analysis Center-Leavenworth, Kansas. He was awarded the Ranger tab, Sapper tab, Master Parachutist badge, and Air Assault badge. 

He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from USMA, a master's in statistics from North Carolina State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University.
