MAJ Steven Warburton is an assistant professor in the Department of Law and Philosophy at the United States Military Academy, where he serves as a British international officer teaching the Law of Armed Conflict (LW 474) elective.

Before joining the faculty, Steven served in various legal roles as a legal adviser in the British Army. He began his military career commissioning from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2015. His previous assignments include the 1st (UK) Division, the Land Warfare Centre, the Special Operations Advisory Group – Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, 3rd (UK) Division, and the Land Special Operations Force.

Before Commissioning into the British Army in 2015, Steven qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales, being added to the roll in 2015.

Steven recently completed an MSc (Exec) in leadership and strategic studies from the University of Reading and is awaiting graduation for that degree. He is now commencing a master of laws degree (LLM), by research thesis, with the University of Reading. He earned his LLB (Hons) from the University of Warwick and undertook a post graduate diploma at the College of Law, Birmingham.
