Dr. Susan Richardson is an economics professor in the Department of Social Sciences and vice dean for academic affairs at the United States Military Academy. As vice dean, she oversees curriculum, faculty development and assessment.
Her academic research is in applied microeconomics, and she has published papers on labor economics, household finance and the economics of education. She publishes under the name Susan P. Carter.
Dr. Richardson previously worked as a research analyst in the Office of Economic and Manpower Analysis at West Point, where she performed data and economic analysis for the Army on issues related to force composition, manpower shortages, retention and post-service employment.
She received her Bachelor of Science in mathematical economics from Wake Forest University and her doctorate in economics from Vanderbilt University.
