LTC Tim Donohue is a defense and strategic studies instructor in the Department of Military Instruction at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York.

He is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a 2008 USMA graduate. He also holds a Master of Science in defense analysis (irregular warfare) from the Naval Postgraduate School.

As an infantry officer, LTC Donohue served with the 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, where he served as a platoon leader, executive officer and battalion assistant operations officer.

As a Special Forces officer, he served in the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) as a detachment commander and company executive officer before serving with U.S. Army Special Operations Command’s Special Operations Training Detachment at both the National Training Center and Joint Readiness Training Center as an observer-coach-trainer and battalion assistant operations officer.

LTC returned to the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) to serve in multiple company commands and as a battalion executive officer. He most recently served with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency as an operations officer supporting U.S. Special Operations Command and combatant command global requirements.

Throughout his assignments, he deployed multiple times in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command operations, activities and investments.

LTC Donohue and his wife, Laura, have two daughters, Hailey and Emily.
