MAJ Tyler Mazda is an instructor and military history academic counselor in the Department of History & War Studies at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
He graduated from USMA in 2014 and commissioned as a military intelligence officer. Mazda served as a battalion assistant S2 and platoon leader in the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, at Fort Hood, Texas (known as Fort Cavazos since 2023), and as a deputy J2 in Afghanistan. After completing the Military Intelligence Captains Career Course, he served as a battalion S2 and company commander at Fort Bliss, Texas.
Mazda earned a master's degree in history from Ohio State University in 2023 and is working on his dissertation examining military development in early modern Imperial Russia.
His wife, Andrea, also teaches in the Department of History & War Studies.
