Dr. Jeremy Cole is a member of the Robotics Research Center (RRC), where he conducts research on navigation and mapping for unmanned systems. Jeremy obtained his Ph.D from North Carolina State University – his dissertation focused on localizing cybernetic insects using low-cost inertial measurement units for use in centimeter-scale environments during urban search-and-rescue operations. His current research areas include: multi-agent simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), autonomous navigation in GPS-denied environments, sensor integration and payload design for unmanned systems, and novel helmet-mounted payloads for dismounted troops.
