SGM Jeremy Schlegel, a native of Hanover Township, Pennsylvania, joined the West Point Band in August 2008.
He earned his Bachelor of Music in trumpet performance and music education from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. In 2012, he was awarded a Master of Public Administration from John Jay College in New York, with a concentration in human resources management. He is a member of the Adjutant General Corps Regimental Association.
SGM Schlegel recently earned the Professional in Human Resources certification through the Human Resources Certification Institute. He began his enlisted career in August 2005.
Prior to his assignment at West Point, he was assigned to the U.S. Army Medical Command Band at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where he served as the personnel and administration branch chief and performed as principal trumpet in the Concert Band, Jazz Combo and Rock Band.
SGM Schlegel earned his Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma (process improvement) in 2016 and is actively involved in building the process improvement community at West Point. He also volunteers with local community organizations such as the Men of St. Joseph and the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Choir.
