CPT Krystal Onyema graduated from West Point and commissioned as an Adjutant General Officer in 2015. Her first assignment was at Camp Henry, South Korea where she served as a Personnel Action Center Officer-In-Charge in Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command (ESC). From 2016 to 2018, Krystal was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Allied Forces North Battalion, NATO Brigade at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium. She served as Company Executive Officer and Company Commander. Following her time in Europe, she attended the Adjutant General Captains Career Course at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. In 2019, Krystal served on Brigade S-1 staff and as the S1 for 3rd Squadron, 5th Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. After serving as S1, she attended graduate school at Northwestern University. Krystal holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Psychology from the United States Military Academy, and a Master of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Krystal’s military education includes the Adjutant General Captains Career Course, the Human Resources Plans and Operations Course, and the Adjutant General Officer Basic Leader Course. Her decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Assault Badge, and Korean Defense Service Medal.
