Because Army officers are required to maintain the highest standards of physical readiness, individual responsibility for physical fitness is essential. The physical development process at West Point takes into account the psychological, motivational, and emotional aspects of total fitness. Thus, competitive and highly demanding physical activities such as those presented in the USMA Physical Program ensure cadets are prepared to meet the rigors of their profession. The information provided here is designed to give you a feel for what being an instructor in DPE is all about. If you believe you would enjoy the challenge of educating, training, and inspiring America’s future leaders, please submit your application
