Dr. Mitchell DeSimone is proud to serve as a Performance Psychology Instructor in CEP, and truly enjoys the opportunity to support each cadet who comes through his office. A Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), Dr. DeSimone holds both a doctoral and master's degree in performance psychology from University of Western States and CalSouthern University respectively, as well as a bachelor's degree in biology and secondary education from Marist College. He joined USMA in 2023 after 6 years in private practice. During that time, he served as a mental performance consultant for multiple NCAA, professional and youth sports teams nationally, as well as for professional, elite and youth performing arts groups across the globe. Outside of USMA, he currently sits on multiple committees within the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and coordinates two Special Interest Groups in the organization as well as co-owning and operating a small dance school with his wife and close friend. Dr. DeSimone comes from a performing arts background; he was a professional and competitive dancer featured on Broadway, televised events and dozens of world tours, and retired from competition with 5 New England Regional titles and ranked 6th in the world. He enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and their two dogs.
