How to Start

1. Identify Your Members of Congress

Check their websites for service academy nomination instructions.


2. Track Deadlines

Most are due between September and October of senior year.


3. Prepare Materials

Typically required:

  • Transcript
  • Test scores
  • Resume
  • Essay
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Interview

Service-Connected Nominations

You may qualify if you are:

  • Active duty, Reserve, or National Guard
  • ROTC member
  • Child of career military
  • Child of Medal of Honor recipient

These are requested through your candidate portal.
