Professor, USMA, and Deputy Head
The United States Military Academy is accepting applications for Professor, USMA and Deputy Head of the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering.
Principal responsibilities include executing the department’s vision and leading faculty and staff to enhance the quality and national stature of academic and research programs, leadership and governance, and the development of military and civilian faculty. Candidates should possess significant leadership experience and practical experience related to the subjects of physics or nuclear engineering.
Dedication to excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to the academic, military, physical, and character development of cadets both inside and outside the classroom are essential requirements of this position. Candidates should have an exemplary military performance record, have significant leadership and staff experience, and completion of advanced military schooling (Intermediate Level Education as a minimum).
Applicants should have a record of research and publication and demonstrate excellence in education at the college level, with teaching at USMA or a comparable college or university being highly desirable. Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or a closely related field, or have a master’s degree with the ability to earn the doctorate within three years of selection. Individuals selected as a PUSMA may serve at the discretion of the Secretary of the Army until age 64.

The United States Military Academy is accepting applications for the position of Professor and Deputy Head in the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences.
The officer selected will serve as principal assistant to the Department Head in overseeing the planning, resourcing, implementation, and assessment of undergraduate education in core and elective courses in geography, environmental science, and geospatial science. The Deputy Head will be responsible for academic administration, personnel and resource management, and faculty development, as well as teaching and mentoring cadets. Additionally, the Deputy Head will serve in governance activities of the United States Military Academy and coordinate with outside agencies.
The applicant should possess a Ph.D. in geography, environmental science, or geospatial sciences or related disciplines, and extensive college or professional teaching experience. Candidates should possess an exemplary military record, have significant leadership and staff experience, have recent experience in an operational unit and advanced military schooling (ILE as a minimum), and possess technical expertise in an area related to the subjects taught in the department.

Academy Professor
The United States Military Academy (USMA) invites qualified officers to apply for consideration as an Academy Professor (FA47) in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), which includes the Army Cyber Institute (ACI).
Academy Professors in EECS provide academic leadership through teaching, scholarship, and faculty development in the fields of Computer Science, Cyber Science, and Electrical Engineering.
Strong applicants will demonstrate clear potential to serve in senior academic leadership roles within EECS, such as directing academic programs, leading core courses, serving as a research director, or contributing to research and leadership within the Army Cyber Institute.
EECS offers academic majors in Computer Science, Cyber Science, and Electrical Engineering, with minors in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cyber Science, and Photonics.
Faculty responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses within the Academy’s Core Curriculum and academic majors; curriculum development; supervision and mentorship of military and civilian faculty; service on faculty committees; and the conduct of scholarly research.

The United States Military Academy (USMA) invites qualified officers to apply for consideration as an Academy Professor (FA47) and Deputy Director, William E. Simon Center for the Professional Military Ethic (SCPME).
SCPME serves as USMA’s proponent for officership and character development and integrates these efforts across the academic, military, and physical programs to develop commissioned leaders of character committed to the Army Ethic and the Army Profession. The SCPME Academy Professor provides doctoral level continuity, expertise, and oversight to ensure rigor and excellence in curriculum, instruction, faculty development, and scholarship.
Serving as the Deputy Director, the selected officer supports the Director in executing all organizational missions and is responsible for the design, delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement of MX400: Officership, the Superintendent’s capstone course and a core course graduation requirement.
Duties include supervising and developing military and civilian faculty; teaching undergraduate courses; leading curriculum development; serving on faculty and institutional committees; and conducting scholarly research that advances officership, character development, and the Army Profession. The Deputy Director also supports stewardship of the Cadet Honor Code and System and advances interdisciplinary research, assessment, and integration efforts across USMA and the Army.
Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching, a strong record of scholarship, and a commitment to the intellectual, military, physical, and character development of cadets, with experience in interdisciplinary teaching and research highly desirable.
