Bates III Department Head Professor, U.S. Military Academy COL Archie Bates is an Academy Professor and head of the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at West Point. He graduated from West Point in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in management. He also holds a Master of Science in national security strategy from the National War College and a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
