Cadets who major in Eurasia foreign area studies pursue an interdisciplinary approach to understanding global and regional issues related to Eurasia. Language electives focus on Russian or Persian. Complementary support courses in the humanities and social sciences enrich the major’s regional capabilities.

Cadets can pursue immersion or a summer Academic Individual Advanced Development (AIAD) program, USMA-run academic enrichment experience, in places such as Latvia, Georgia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, or Uzbekistan. Cadets can also apply for a Military Individual Advanced Development (MIAD) Program in the NATO-accredited Georgian Mountain Training School in the Caucasus Mountains.
