Building Innovative Leaders for the Future

The West Point Technical Scholars Program (TSP) is here to help mentor and guide cadets in their pursuit of undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship as they seek national and international honors for their performance at the United States Military Academy (USMA). 

With over 240 scholarships and fellowships awarded, the TSP has continued to fill the Army ranks with innovative leaders prepared for the challenges they will face throughout their careers.

Postgraduate Technical Scholarships and Fellowships

This scholarship provides full tuition for a year of master’s study in science, mathematics, or engineering based at Churchill College. Applicants are required to submit an institutional letter of recommendation. 

The TSP screens applicants during their first class year at USMA.

The program sponsors 50 to 60 graduate students each year, providing full tuition and a monthly stipend during a student's degree program. Fellows are typically enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program in engineering, science, and mathematics

This fellowship provides funding for up to five years of study for a Ph.D. in applied sciences at selected universities while supporting early-stage research and promising innovators.

This scholarship provides funding for active-day military officers in graduate school studies. Fellows must be either enrolled in a graduate degree program that requires a thesis, sponsored by Training with Industry, or sponsored by their respective Senior Service School.

The GEM fellowship program offers M.S. and Ph.D. students access to top engineering and science firms and universities in the nation. Fellowships promote opportunities for students in areas such as research and development, product development, and other high-tech technical careers, as well as academia.

Undergraduate Technical Scholarships

Service academy cadets' sponsorship is valued at approximately $5,000, exclusively for the scholar's professional development. 

The TSP nominates cadets to compete. Institutionally supported finalists will be nominated to the ASF committee for final selection.

Although no funds are awarded to USMA cadets, the Goldwater Scholarship is a prestigious undergraduate scholarship in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering. 

The TSP nominates up to four cadets annually. Applicants are screened by the TSP in their third or second class year at USMA.
