LTC Christopher M. Ardohain is an instructor in the Department of Geography & Earth Sciences at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York. He serves as the primary instructor for GE373 and periodically instructs GE477 and GE478.
He is a military intelligence officer and holds extensive expertise as an operations research and systems analyst (FA49). Ltc Ardohain's operational deployments include multiple tours in Iraq, where he supported route clearance operations as a military intelligence officer. In Afghanistan, he was the deputy J10 for the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force, contributing to Village Stability Operations.
As an FA49, LTC Ardohain completed a yearlong assignment with MAXAR through the Army’s Training with Industry program. He also dedicated significant time to the U.S. Special Operations Command, leading efforts in wargaming and experimental design.
His academic research centers on deep learning applications for remote sensing, with a focus on forestry and natural resources. He graduated from USMA in 2005 with a B.S. in geospatial information science. He holds an M.S. in operations research from the Naval Post-Graduate School and a Ph.D. in forestry and natural resources from Purdue University.
