CPT Daniel Hawbaker

CPT Daniel Hawbaker is an instructor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at the United States Military Academy (USMA), currently teaching in the electrical engineering and core programs.
He graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from USMA in 2015 and commissioned as an Army aviation officer. As a lieutenant, he served as a platoon leader and a battalion assistant operations officer in the 2916th AVN Battalion at Fort Irwin, California.
As a captain, he moved to Fort Hood, Texas, where he served as brigade assistant operations officer in the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, and as company commander of C/3-227th. While in command, he deployed in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve in Eastern Europe.
Prior to returning to USMA, Hawbaker attended the University of Pittsburgh for graduate school and obtained a master's degree in electrical and computer engineering.
Hawbaker is a pilot-in-command, air mission commander, and maintenance test pilot for the UH-60A/L/M Blackhawk helicopter. He is married to fellow aviator and officer CPT Dana Spinks.
