LTC Daniel Konopa

LTC Dan Konopa is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, as well as the Photonics Research Center, at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
He graduated from USMA in 2008 with a bachelor's degree (with honors) and commissioned as an infantry officer and served as a platoon leader and company executive officer in the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.
LTC Konopa went on to command Alpha Company, 3-21 Infantry, at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. After command, he pursued graduate studies at Purdue University, where he completed a master's degree in electrical and computer engineering.
He then spent three years teaching in the Electrical Engineering program at USMA before transitioning into the Army Acquisition Corps as a Functional Area 51 (Acquisition Officer). In this role, he has served as an assistant product manager on the Extended Range Cannon Artillery (ERCA) program and as a capability developer within the Maneuver Support Capability Development Integration Directorate.
