MAJ Daniel Baughman is an instructor in the Department of English & World Languages at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York.

He graduated from USMA with a Bachelor of Science in environmental science and German and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Infantry branch in May 2012. 

He served with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Irwin, California, for his first assignment and later commanded Infantry Rifle Companies at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, and at Fort Myer, Virginia, with the 3rd US Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard). His overseas service included a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel in 2017. 

MAJ Baughman holds an M.A. in German from Georgetown University. He is a graduate of the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course and the Maneuver Captains Career Course. 

His military awards and decorations include the Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Army Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal.
