CPT(P) Devon Hudson is an instructor in the Department of Geography & Earth Sciences at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
He graduated from USMA in 2015 and commissioned as an ordnance officer. After completing the Ordnance Basic Officer Leader Course, he attended and graduated from the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal School in 2016.
As an explosive ordnance disposal officer, he has served in a variety of positions supporting joint, multinational and civilian law enforcement partners across diverse mission sets. His assignments include platoon leader and operations officer, 702nd Ordnance Company, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD); assistant S-3, 242nd Ordnance Battalion (EOD); and commander, 764th Ordnance Company (EOD).
His awards include the Air Assault Badge, Senior EOD Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge.
CPT (P) Hudson holds a bachelor's degree from USMA and a master's degree from Western Michigan University. He is a human geographer by trade, with research interests in sports and agricultural geography. His previous work has explored the foundational role of place in shaping and sustaining individual identity, with a particular focus on sports fandom and allegiances.
