Upon completion of his initial training, LTC Major was assigned to the 576th Engineer Company of the 4th Engineer Battalion at Fort Carson, Colorado. After completing his first combat tour, LTC Major was selected as executive officer to military support director at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
LTC Major then attended the Engineer Captains Career Course, where he earned a master's degree in engineering management. He was selected to lead the Brigade Headquarters and Headquarters Company in deployment and changed command in theater to lead a Route Clearance Company during the drawdown phase of Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon redeployment, he inactivated the 23D Engineer Company (Airborne) before assignment to the New York District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. While with the District, he supervised construction of Davis Barracks at USMA and the resurfacing of the airstrip at Pituffik Space Base.
LTC Major moved from active duty to the Army Reserve in 2018, serving as the brigade design engineer (S7) for the 411th Engineer Brigade before becoming the operations officer (S3) for the 10-80th BN (OES).
In the private sector, he founded the Bear Mountain Bakery in Highland Falls, New York, and is now employed as a vice president at Morgan Stanley. While at Morgan Stanley, he was recalled to active duty as a USMA instructor.
