Dr. Ericka Rovira, Ph.D.

Dr. Ericka Rovira is a professor of engineering psychology for the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership (BSL) and the Robotics Research Center at the United States Military Academy.

She holds a doctorate in applied experimental psychology. Her research investigates human-autonomy teaming in high-risk, complex environments. Her work focuses on improving trust and reliance in robots, including team cohesion and the role of individual differences in cognition. 

Dr. Rovira was recently awarded a Multi-University Research Initiative grant for five years to study human-autonomy teaming, a $7.5 million project with six collaborators. She has held various leadership positions, including chair of the Engineering Psychology program and president of the American Psychological Association’s Division 21: Applied Experimental and Engineering Psychology.

She has received numerous honors, including the Dean’s Award for Excellence (2023), the Scott R. Clark Innovation for Soldiers Award (2022), the Peter L. Zhu Scholastic Achievement Award from the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (2022), the Outstanding Senior Teaching Award in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership (2022) and the Department of the Army Superior Civilian Service Medal (2019).
