CPT Jeffrey Edmonds is an instructor in the Department of English & World Languages at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York. He serves in the Chinese section, where he is a course director, instructor, and coordinator for the USMA-Taiwan Military Immersion Exchange Program.
He holds a master's degree in East Asia regional studies from Columbia University. Edmonds' research focuses on China’s BeiDou Satellite Navigation System and its strategic role in shaping global technological infrastructure through integration with emerging networks. He also examines the development and international implications of the digital renminbi (e-CNY), with particular emphasis on its potential as a tool of digital statecraft.
He has served in a range of operational and staff assignments across the space operations enterprise and most recently served as deputy chief of a space control planning team supporting U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.
Edmonds' military education includes the Joint Targeting Staff Course, Joint Intermediate Target Development Course, Joint Firepower Course, Joint Special Technical Operations Planners Course, Joint Targeting School Collateral Damage Estimation Course, National Security Space Institute Space 200, Army Space Control Planners Course, Army Space Control Fundamentals, Space Operations Officer Qualification Course, and the Signal Captains Career Course.
His qualifications include the Space Operations Badge, Mountaineering Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Expert Infantryman Edmonds is credentialed as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and holds CompTIA Security+ certification.
