Dr. Jenna Morogiello-Shaw is the director of the Human Performance Lab and an assistant professor an and athletic trainer in the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
She holds a bachelor's degree in athletic training from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in kinesiology from Georgia Southern University, and a doctorate in athletic training from the University of Idaho. The Idaho university is the first in the country to offer a clinical doctorate for athletic trainers.
Dr. Morogiello-Shaw’s specialty is holistic, patient-centered care and advanced manual therapy techniques. Her doctoral research focused on the use of Primal Reflex Release Technique to treat Type II medial tibial stress syndrome, commonly known as shin splints. Most recently, she co-authored the second edition of the handbook Cram Session in Goniometry and Manual Muscle Testing, designed for students, instructors and medical professionals.
She began her professional career as a graduate assistant athletic trainer and teaching assistant at Georgia Southern University and later as coordinator of injury prevention and care at Campus Recreation and Intramurals. She and her team provided medical services to club sports, intramural sports, ROTC, university police, and other recreational activities.
Dr. Morogiello-Shaw also served on thesis committees, was a clinical preceptor to athletic training students and lectured in the master’s in kinesiology program.
