CPT Joshua Ische is an instructor in the Department of Geography & Earth Sciences at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.
He commissioned in 2016 from USMA as an armor officer and served with 2-14 Cavalry, 2nd IBCT, 25th ID out of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, from 2016 to 2019. While there, CPT Ische served in positions as a platoon leader, executive officer, and squadron S4.
His second posting was with 1-4 Cavalry, 1st ABCT, 1st ID out of Fort Riley, Kansas, where he served as a brigade plans officer and troop commander of Bravo Troop, 1-4 Cavalry, during a deployment in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.
CPT Ische holds a Master of Science in environment and sustainability from Rackham Graduate School at the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science from USMA with a major in geospatial information science.
His research focuses on the use of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) and their applications for forest management and wildlife conservation.
