COL Kirk Ingold is a professor of electrical engineering in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point.
As an Academy Professor at USMA, he has served as the director of the Photonics Research Center from 2016-23, and as the Electrical Engineering program director from 2023-25.
He deployed twice for assignments to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, to support theater communications in Southwest Asia from 2010-11, and to Kabul, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Resolute Support in 2016.
COL Ingold is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a member of the Optical Society of America, and a member of SPIE.
His research interests include nonlinear photonics, high-energy lasers, and optical communications.
