Dr. Lisa M. Korenman is an associate professor, academic counselor, and course director in the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership (BSL) at the United States Military Academy (USMA), where she chairs the Scientific Review Committee.
An alumna of Newburgh Free Academy, she completed her bachelor's degree in psychology at Skidmore College in 1993. Her undergraduate research examined visual factors influencing the perception and memory of characters within intricate search tasks.
Following her time at Skidmore, Dr. Korenman began her doctoral studies in experimental psychology, specializing in cognitive neuroscience, at American University. After completing her doctorate, she returned to Newburgh and began her academic career.
Since 2007, she has taught courses in introductory psychology, research methods, the neurocognitive foundations of behavior, and thesis within BSL's psychology program at USMA. Her research explores the impact of facial and vocal attributes on the perception of leadership quality and subsequent memory retention.
Beyond her academic work, Dr. Korenman has a daughter, Maren, and lives with her partner, Michael, in the Hudson Valley.
