CPT Lucas Ruff is an instructor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at the United States Military Academy (USMA). He has been a faculty member in 2023.

He commissioned as an infantry officer through USMA in 2015. He served in several positions in the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), deploying to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve from 2016 to 2017 as a rifle platoon leader and company intelligence support team leader. In 2019, CPT Ruff transitioned to the Military Intelligence Corps and graduated from the Military Intelligence Captains Career Course. 

As a military intelligence officer, he was assigned to the 525th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Battalion, where he commanded a multi-domain military intelligence detachment in reach support of Operations Allies Refuge and European Assure, Deter and Reinforce. While at the 525th E-MIB, he completed his Master of Science in electrical and computer engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
