CPT Lucas Litle is an international affairs instructor in the Department of English & World Languages at the United States Military Academy.

He commissioned into the Army armor officer through ROTC in 2016 after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in history from San Francisco State University. A San Francisco native, Litle grew up playing basketball and baseball and roots for the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco Giants.

CPT Litle began his Army career in the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, at Fort Carson, Colorado, where he served as a cavalry platoon leader and troop executive officer. In 2018, he deployed with 3-61 Cavalry to Kosovo in support of KFOR 24. As a captain and new military intelligence officer, he served as a cavalry squadron S2 in 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, and deployed to Syria in 2022 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

CPT Litle attended graduate school at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where he studied Mandarin, Chinese security policy, and U.S. security policy in the Indo-Pacific region. Upon graduating, he began serving as a USMA instructor, a job he had wanted since commissioning. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, and trail running.
