CPT Mariah Caid-Loos is an instructor in the Core Physics Program with the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (PaNE) at the United States Military Academy (USMA). She graduated from USMA in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and commissioned into Engineers.
Her first operational tour was to 84th EN BN at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where she served as the assistant intelligence officer. She then led a Horizontal Platoon in the 561st ECC. Afterwards, she became the executive officer for Alpha Company, 249th EN BN Prime Power at Schofield Barracks. Caid-Loos then returned to 84th EN BN as the tactical officer, where she completed a rotation to Camp Carroll, Korea, as the battle captain for Combined Task Force Defender in 2019.
Following this assignment, she returned to Hawaii as a project engineer for the Honolulu District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Upon her PCS to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 133 in Gulfport, Mississippi, Caid-Loos became the officer in charge of Civic Action Team Palau 133-29. She deployed to Koror, Palau, for the 2020-21 deployment.
Upon redeployment, she served as the headquarters commander for NMCB 133. Caid-Loos then became assistant operations officer for NMCB 133 during the 2022 deployment to Rota, Spain. After her assignment with NMCB 133, she took command of Alpha Company, 3-34th Infantry Regiment, a basic training company located at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. After command, she earned a Master of Science in Applied Physics from Rutgers-Newark University in 2025.
Caid-Loos is a registered Engineer-In-Training with a discipline of chemical engineering in the state of Delaware. She is also a certified Project Management Professional. Furthermore, she is OSHA Level 30, Airborne, and Seabee Combat Warfare qualified. Her personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (2 awards), the National Defense Services Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Medal, the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge, and other unit, service, and campaign awards.
She is married to MAJ Kelley Lewis, who is a military police officer and an instructor in USMA's Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership. She has two French bulldogs named Fromage and Boba, a chinchilla named Jerry, and a ball python named Mr. Butters.
