Robby Vought is the assistant athletic trainer at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS). His main responsibilities are to provide quality care to all varsity and club sports, as well as the entire Cadet Candidate battalion. Additionally, Mr. Vought also teaches a supplement lecture as part of the Physical Education program.

Mr. Vought arrived at USMAPS in the fall of 2011. He previously served as an assistant athletic trainer at the United States Military Academy (USMA) for 15 years. He provided daily medical coverage to the Black Knights wrestling team for eight seasons, and football for seven seasons before that.  

His involvement was not limited to those activities. Over the course of his 15 years at USMA, Mr. Vought also proudly assisted nearly every Corps Squad team in some aspect.

Originally from Michigan, he earned bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1993. Prior to joining the West Point staff in 1996, Mr. Vought earned his master’s degree from Florida International University (FIU), where he was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for baseball and men’s soccer. He also spent a season as an intern with the NBA’s Miami Heat.  

Before attending FIU, he worked at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and spent six months as an intern at West Point.  

Mr. Vought is a certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is registered to practice by the New York State Board of Education.

In addition to athletic training, he was an adjunct professor at Dominican College for eight years, teaching Principles of Health Assessment to students in the athletic training curriculum. He also volunteers as a firefighter for the Cornwall on Hudson Fire Department where he had served as the fire chief for three years.
