Mr. Robby Vought
Athletic Trainer, USMAPS
Robby Vought serves as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at USMAPS. His main responsibilities are to provide quality care to all varsity and club sports, as well as the entire Cadet Candidate battalion. Additionally, Mr. Vought will teach a supplement lecture as part of the Physical Education program.
Mr. Vought arrived at USMAPS in the fall of 2011. Prior to his position at USMAPS, he served as an assistant athletic trainer at USMA for 15 years. He provided daily medical coverage to the Black Knights’ wrestling team for 8 seasons, and football for 7 seasons before that. His involvement was not limited to those activities; over the course of his 15 years at USMA, Mr. Vought also proudly assisted nearly every Corps Squad team in some aspect.
Prior to joining the West Point staff in 1996, Mr. Vought earned his Master’s in Science degree from Florida International University while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, where he covered baseball and men’s soccer. He also spent a season as an intern with the NBA’s Miami Heat. Prior to attending FIU, he worked at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, MI, and spent 6 months as an intern at West Point. Originally from Michigan, Mr. Vought earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1993.
Mr. Vought is a certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is registered to practice by the New York State Board of Education.
In addition to athletic training, Mr. Vought was an adjunct professor at Dominican College for 8 years, teaching Principles of Health Assessment to students in the athletic training curriculum. He also volunteers as a firefighter for the Cornwall on Hudson Fire Department where he had served as the fire chief for three years.
