CPT Samantha DeCapua is an instructor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership at the United States Military Academy (USMA).

A New Jersey native, she graduated from Widener University in 2017 with a double major in sociology and criminal justice and commissioned as an aviation officer specializing as a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot. Her first assignment was with 2-2 Assault Helicopter Battalion in Seoul Airbase, South Korea. She served as the Higher Headquarters Company executive officer and flight company platoon leader. Following this assignment, she was selected to serve as the aide-de-camp for the 2nd Infantry Division Deputy Commanding General--Maneuver at Camp Humphreys.

After attending the Captains Career Course she was assigned to 12th Aviation Battalion at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. There she commanded Charlie Company "CON AIR" and subsequently Delta Company "Dragons" in support of continuity of government operations in the National Capital Region.

Following command, she attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C and earned a master's degree in sociology.

Her research interests include quality of life, work/life balance, and the family.
