CPT Si Yi is an instructor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at the United States Military Academy (USMA), currently teaching in the electrical engineering program. He is a pilot-in-command and air mission commander for the AH-64D Apache helicopter.

He graduated with a bachelor of science in nuclear engineering with honors from USMA in 2016. After commissioning as an Army aviation officer and completing flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama, he served as a platoon leader and a battalion operations officer in the 4-2nd Attack Battalion at USAG Humphreys, South Korea.

Upon completion of Aviation Captains Career Course at Fort Rucker, he moved to Ansbach, Germany, where he served as brigade assistant operations officer in the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB), company commander of B/1-3rd Attack Battalion, and company commander of HHC/12th CAB. While in command of B/1-3rd, he deployed to Latvia in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce.

Prior to returning to USMA, he attended the Georgia Institute of Technology for graduate school and obtained a master's degree in electrical and computer engineering.
